I got my first camera when I was 12, that’s back when 35 millimeter cameras was the latest in technology and Kodak and Polaroid were the bomb! We had just exited the day of the instant pictures that developed right before your eyes and moved on multi-picture rolls that took over a week to get developed. They were suppose to be sharper, clearer pictures…. ok, not in my hands. But I loved my cameras and though I have never been able to afford the more expensive items with all the fancy lens’ I do upgrade my cheap camera every few years just to keep up with the times. So now its digital cameras, whether it be on my phone or the neat little Nikon Cool- Pix I now have, I still take nice blurry pictures.
They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So what does your eye say to you? Mine says that I like old things, nature, and my pets and so, that is what I take pictures of. Photographs is an art form – so many photographers have prove that point over the years so I thought why not be an artist and make my own art or collection. Pick a topic, take out my camera and shoot.
That’s what I did a couple of years ago on vacation to the Amish country of Pennsylvania/Ohio. Its the area that my husband is from ( I am southeastern girl myself) and I thought it would be nice to get some photos of the area and place them on the wall for him as a reminder of his home. I started photographing old buildings and ended up with old barns as my theme.

Later I will turn these photos to black and white ( I just think its the right look for them). I am currently searching for a old six pane window from to place them in and them display it on my wall… once this project is completed I will definitely update this thread. By combining 2 of my hobbies, photography and crafting, I’ll be creating my own kind of art.
